How to create a local food strategy

Richard's picture

We've been running the New Forest Food Challenge for the past 9 months as part of New Forest Transition's activities to promote transition. The aim, at the end of the project, is to hold a 'local food summit' and get everyone round the table to start the process of creating a local food strategy.

Does anyone have experience of anything similar? We hope to hold the event in the summer and it would be really useful to draw on what others have done in setting it up.

Thanks....

Local Food Summit

Sounds a great idea. We are members of the Calder Food Hub, currently trying to gain funding fort local food projects in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire. The Hub has been running for 18 months with some ups and downs, but we are getting support for courses and events we are running.
Best Wishes. Contact calderfoodhub@ymail.com.
